Alexandaer the Great (356 BC - 323 BC) enocuntered giant hairy people.
There are many accounts of hairy men and women who appeared throughout legends of Alexander the Great. Many were known as river dwellers, they often hung around river fords and interfered with people trying to cross. Notice the hairy people picking up apples in the ancient images shown below "ALEXANDER'S DIVING BELL" . In the top image it would seem that they even managed to catch a few. It is written that Alexander captured some wild men but they would not survive the journey for they would parish due to abstinence of food.

or this one

Here again we have an unexpected correlation, not only are these people wild & hairy but they also have a liking for apples. You see it is thought by many including myself that the Bigfoot too has a liking for apples. I have received a local report of a family who lived on a nearby river, when they went to pick their apples every one of them where gone. The apples where there the day before and then overnight they were all gone even from the ground and high in the tress. They were absolutely bewildered and had no idea of what could have done such a thing. You can't even imagine the reactions for these same people ( the women) had been frightened away from taking dips alone at the river for something big dark and hairy kept watching her.

Alexander ,Ganges River, Astomi

Megasthenes places this race in India, near the source of the Ganges river. According to him, their bodies are rough and hairy, and they have no mouths. They do not eat food, but feed themselves by smelling. When traveling they carry roots, flowers, and apples to smell. If they smell a strong or unpleasant odor, they can die.
Megasthenes (340-282 BC), was the Greek envoy to the court of Chandragupta Maurya, emperor of Magadha. He was sent by Seleucus Nicator (Seleucus I), who unsuccessfully defended the areas overrun by Alexander the Great from Chandragupta.

There are many more representations of the wild man throughout this manuscript. This is a beautiful piece of art and the detail is exquisite. Do consider taking the time to view this manuscript .

Alexander the Great Cynocephali

Representations of Alexander meeting giant hairy people come from varied and multiple sources. In a French manuscript of the early fifteenth century, there are illuminations of Alexander and his soldiers in deadly combat with a wild man and a wild woman
